New Canadian Music

Veteran bluesman Jim Byrnes is a JUNO and Maple Blues award-winner and he comes up with a winner on St. Louis Times. He describes it as his most personal album yet, for he delves deeply into the music of his birthplace, St. Louis. He offers fresh versions of classics ranging from Chuck Berry's "Nadine" to WC Handy's "St. Louis Blues", as well as engaging originals co-written by Steve Dawson.  Elements of jazz, blues, and rock 'n roll fuse smoothly. Add in a strong horn section, masterful production from Dawson and guest turns from John Hammond and Colin James and you have an ace album sure to be in the running at the next awards season.
